At Nalls, we bury the eggs in hay. So dress accordingly! (We will also have a small non-hypoallergenic area, too.) Each person is asked to bring one package of the following first aid or hygiene products as their entry into the event: bandaids, antibiotic ointment, foot ointment, travel tissues, bar soap, wash clothes, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. Although this is a free event, we ask that every family register for the event so that we can adequately prepare, break down the age groups for the egg hunt, and provide an advanced schedule of what age group will hunt when.

Palm & Passion Sunday | Sun, March 25 | 10am at Island Creek Elementary

Palm & Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. Join us as we move from “Hosanna” to “Crucify Him” all in one service. The Sunday before Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus entered Jerusalem with all of the triumph of a great king. As he processed into the city, the crowds would have waved palm branches and shouted, “Hosanna!” Therefore we will embody this in our worship, gathering outside for our call to worship and opening hymn and then we will processing into the worship together waving our palm branches high. Throughout the service, journey with us through the events of Holy Week until we find ourselves at the foot of the cross as we strip the altar, and quietly and prayerfully move through interactive Stations of the Cross that our children have prepared for us throughout Lent.

Maundy Meals | Wed & Thurs, March 28 or 29 | Homes throughout Kingstowne

To celebrate Holy Thursday, the night that Jesus gathered with his disciples before he was arrested and instituted the Lord’s Supper, giving us commandments (which is all Maundy means) to love God, love each other, and serve each other, we at the Kingstowne Communion gather in homes for dinner, scriptural reflection, community, prayer, and communion. Email Pastor Michelle for more information about who is hosting these meals and where they are happening.

Good Friday at the Pub | Fri, March 30 | 6:00-8:30pm at Fiona’s Irish Pub

Join us this Good Friday in the back room of Fiona’s Irish Pub.  From 6:00-7:30pm, prayerfully explore at your own pace artist Lauren Wright Pittman’s graphic art depictions of Jesus’ journey to the cross during a cocktail hour with complementary hor’dourves in the back room of Fiona’s Irish Pub. Feel free to sit, follow the prayer guide in reflection, order dinner and drinks, walk through the stations, share your life with other friends gathered. Then stay for a 7:30pm Good Friday worship service in which we will remember and reflect upon the death of Jesus through songs, scripture, prayer, and communion, concluding by stripping the altar in preparation for Jesus’ burial. Come early to order drinks and food. Waiters will not be taking orders during the service itself. You may also stay after to eat.
