Good Friday at the Pub
Good Friday at the Pub: Stations of the Cross & Worship
Join us this Good Friday in the back room of Fiona’s Irish Pub.
6:00-7:30pm – Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross is a ancient, meditative pilgrimage and practice for the spiritually hungry. Come prayerfully explore at your own pace artist Lauren Wright Pittman’s graphic art depictions of Jesus’ journey to the cross during a cocktail hour with complementary hor’dourves in the back room of Fiona’s Irish Pub. Feel free to sit, follow the prayer guide in reflection, order dinner and drinks, walk through the stations, share your life with other friends gathered.
7:30pm-8:15pm – Good Friday Worship
Stay for a 7:30pm Good Friday worship service in which we will remember and reflect upon the death of Jesus through songs, scripture, prayer, and communion, concluding by stripping the altar in preparation for Jesus’ burial. Come early to order drinks and food. Waiters will not be taking orders during the service itself. You may also stay after to eat.
Kids are welcome at the discretion of their parents. You may choose to attend both parts of the evening or only one part.
Why Take Good Friday to the Pub?
Jesus’ walk to the cross would have been a very public thing, in the middle of the marketplace, passing by all kinds of people consumed by their day-to-day errands, celebrations, pain, trivialities. Among the public clatter of the pub, come turn toward Jesus, sit with Jesus’ death, and wait on resurrection with us.
