Advent & Christmas 2020

Four Sundays of Advent | Join us Nov. 29, Dec. 6, 13, and 20 for Sunday worship on the four Sundays of Advent, live on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Advent Wreath Deliveries | It is our goal for every household of our church, every person who joins us online for worship this Advent, to have their own Advent wreath to light along with us as we mark time and the gifts of God’s hope, love, joy, and peace together. We have created special Advent bags for all of you. If you are unsure if we have your address or would like to specially request a bag, please sign-up here.

Advent Conspiracy Study | Sundays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6, 13, 20 at 7:30pm on Zoom | Join Alyssa, our Wesley Seminary intern, on the four Advent Sunday evenings beginning Nov. 29 from 7:30-9pm on Zoom, as she leads us in the Advent Conspiracy on Sunday evenings over Zoom. Advent Conspiracy is founded on the radical idea that we can celebrate Christmas humbly, beautifully, and generously without ending the season exhausted and feeling like we missed the real point of it all. Advent is the story of a wondrous moment when God entered our world to make things right. It is the greatest story ever told and it changes everything, it should change everything—including the way we celebrate Christmas. By dedicating our lives together to the four key tenets of Advent Conspiracy – 1) Worshipping fully, 2) Spending less, 3) Giving more, and 4) Loving all – we will, together, fall in love with the awe-inducing, soul-satisfying mystery of the incarnation. Sign-up now for our Advent Conspiracy Study.

Serve Christmas Supper at Rising Hope Mission | Sunday, December 13, 1-4pm | As our main mission in the community this December, the Kingstowne Communion will be funding, cooking, and serving Rising Hope’s annual Christmas dinner for 150+ people served by their ministries living along the Route 1 corridor. Usually this meal would be a beautiful sit-down community affair, but due to COVID, we will be adapting this meal for safety in clamshell container to-go form. We will need volunteers to help with set-up, plating, and distributing from 1-4pm. The meal will be distributed starting at 2pm. Sign-up to Serve Christmas Supper and/or connect on Facebook.

Virtual Christmas Carol Sing-along | Tuesday, Dec. 8, 7pm | Join us online this year for a Christmas carol sing-along at home on Facebook live or our YouTube channel. Bret and Gina will take requests in the feed, and you can follow along in our electronic lyric books. Come sing with us! Connect on Facebook.

Virtual Cookies with Santa | Saturday, Dec. 12, 10am-12:30pm | With the help of his elves, Santa learned how to Zoom over the last year! And he wants to gather with YOU for some cookies and coversation! Kids, join Santa and Mrs. Claus (along with some elves) at 10am for a 20-30 min group story, song, and cookie time at 10am. Then, sign off, and sign back on for your assigned individual time with Santa, when it’s your turn, sometime between 10:30-12:30. Share what you want for Christmas and how crazy the last year has been, and have your special (totally one-of-a-kind, very 2020) picture taken with Santa over Zoom! Register now and we’ll send you your time slot! Register your child now and connect on Facebook.
