Ms. Q's Corner

We’re going to spend a few months finding out the answer to this question:  Who is God?
The overall theme of our learning lays the groundwork for what it means to be a Christian.

Beyond Sunday: Homegrown Faith

Faith isn’t just for Sundays. It’s something we live every day! These fun activities are perfect for doing at home with your family to explore big questions like “Is God real?” and help your child experience faith in everyday moments.

Activity 1: Nature Walk & Wonder
Take a walk outside as a family. Look closely at trees, flowers, bugs, clouds, or stars at night. Ask your child:

What do you notice about this
Who do you think made all these amazing things?
Talk about how the beauty and order in nature can show us that God is real.

Activity 2: Creation Collage
Gather pictures from magazines, printouts, or draw things from nature (animals, stars, plants). Make a collage titled “God’s Creation.” As you create, discuss how all these things show God’s creativity and presence.

Activity 3: Starry Night Observation
On a clear night, go outside and look at the stars together. Talk about Psalm 8:3-4 (“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers...”). Ask your child how the vastness of the sky makes them feel about God.

Activity 4: Family Faith Chat
During dinner or car rides, ask open questions like:
What do you think it means that God is real?
Have you ever felt like God was with you?
What would you ask God if you saw Him?

Activity 5: Thank You Tree
Create a “Thank You” tree using paper leaves. Each day, add a leaf with something your child thanks God for, showing how God’s presence is real in everyday life.
