Mother's Day
Mother's Day Acknowledgement & Call to Worship
Leader: God of Exodus and everyday mornings,
you lead your people not only out of slavery
but through the wilderness.
Today we bring before you
the women and the families
who are living in the in between.
All: Lord, be with us as we move through.
Leader: For mothers who are in the thick of it—
juggling schedules, wiping tears,
packing bags, signing forms,
doing the daily manna work that no one sees:
All: Give strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
Leader: For women who long to be mothers,
who carry the ache of empty arms
and prayers that feel unanswered:
All: Hold their longing with tenderness and draw near.
Leader: For those who have lost children,
or who grieve the child they imagined
and wrestle with the story that is:
All: Comfort them as a mother comforts her child.
Leader: For those who miss their own mothers today—
through death, distance, or broken relationships—
and feel the empty chair at the table:
All: Be their refuge, their memory, and their peace.
Leader: For foster and adoptive mothers,
for stepmothers and grandmothers,
for spiritual mothers and mentors
who quietly pour out love in a hundred unnoticed ways:
All: Bless the work of their hands and the love of their hearts.
Leader: For women who do not wear the name “mother,”
yet carry and nurture life in classrooms, workplaces, friendships, and ministries:
All: Honor their care and make their hidden work fruitful.
Leader: For every family in transition—
between homes, between seasons,
between certainty and what comes next—
for our church in this in between place,
under borrowed roofs and open sky:
All: Teach us to find You here, not only when we arrive.
Leader: God of Marah and manna,
who turns bitter water sweet
and gives bread for each day,
meet every woman, every family,
exactly where they stand today—
not where they wish they were,
not where they used to be,
but here.
All: Give us enough grace for today,
and faith that You will be there again tomorrow.
Leader: As a mother comforts her child,
so comfort Your people, O God.
Shape us in these wilderness days.
Let our moving through
become a place where we discover Your presence.
All: We trust You with our deserts,
our children, our futures, and our hearts.
Lead us through, Lord. Amen.

FIRM FOUNDATION (HE WON'T)

Christ is my firm foundation, the rock on which I stand
When everything around me is shaken I've never been more glad
That I put my faith in Jesus, 'cause He's never let me down
He's faithful through generations so why would He fail now?
He won't; He won't!
I've still got joy in chaos, I've got peace that makes no sense
So I won't be going unde, I'm not held by my own strength
'Cause I've built my life on Jesus; He's never let me down
He's faithful in every season, so why would He fail now?
He won't! He won't! He won't fail; He won't fail.
Rain came and wind blew, but my house was built on You
I'm safe with You, I'm going to make it through
Rain came and wind blew, but my house was built on You
I'm safe with You, I'm going to make it through
Yeah, I'm going to make it through, 'cause I'm standing strong on You
Yeah, I'm going to make it through, 'cause my house is built on You
WAY MAKER

You are here moving in our midst; I worship You. I worship You.
You are here working in this place; I worship You. I worship You.
You are Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper,
Light in the darkness; my God that is who You are.
You are here touching ev'ry heart; I worship You. I worship You.
You are here healing ev'ry heart; I worship You. I worship You
You are here turning lives around; I worship You. I worship You.
You are here mending ev'ry heart; I worship You, I worship You.
Even when I don't see it, You're working; even when I don't feel it, You're working.
You never stop, You never stop working. You never stop, You never stop working.
BLESSED ASSURANCE

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine.
Heir of salvation, purchase of God; born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story; this is my song! Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story; this is my song! Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight! Visions of rapture now burst on my sight.
Angels descending, bring from above echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my Savior am happy and blest.
Watching and waiting, looking above; filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
HONEY IN THE ROCK

There's honey in the rock, water in the stone, manna on the ground no matter where I go.
I don't need to worry now that I know everything I need, You've got. There's honey in the rock!
Praying for a miracle, thirsty for the Living Well, only You can satisfy
Sweetness at the mercy seat, now I've tasted, it's not hard to see only You can satisfy
There's honey in the rock (4X)
Freedom where the Spirit is; bounty in the wilderness. You will always satisfy
There's honey in the rock, water in the stone, manna on the ground no matter where I go.
I don't need to worry now that I know everything I need, You've got.
There's honey in the rock, purpose in Your plan; power in the blood, healing in Your hands.
Started flowing when You said it is done; everything You did's enough.
Discussion Questions
Warm-up
1. Share your name and, if you’d like, one “in between” you’re navigating right now (big or small—could be work, family, faith, or this church move).
2. When you hear the word “wilderness,” what images or feelings come to mind?
Naming Our “Through”
1. Without sharing details you’re not comfortable with, how would you describe a current “through” season you’re in?
2. What has been hardest about it?
3. Has anything good or unexpected come out of it yet?
4. When you feel “stuck between” what was and what’s next, what are you most tempted to do—rush ahead, look back, numb out, complain, pray, something else?
Manna
1. Manna was “enough for each day,” not a yearly supply. How do you feel about the idea that God often gives “today’s bread,” not tomorrow’s? Comforted? Anxious? Frustrated?
2. Think back over the last week or two: Can you name one “manna moment”—a small way God provided what you needed just for that day?
3. Our church is in an in between space with buildings and locations. Where have you seen “manna” for our church in this season?
